Ok, so I’m surfing around and had some de ja vu when I saw these BKE Sole Quest shoes. I chose the Madden Luvvy – Black Polka Pump as my shoe pick for today – and well…. take a look at these, aren’t they very similar??

eerily familiar isn’t it? except the Madden shoes retail at zappos for $83.95 and the BKE’s sell for $24 .50 at buckle. I’m sure there is probably a quality differential, but still – great copycat shoes for those who want to pocket the extra cash!
Anyone know if Madden and BKE are owned by the same mega-corporate company or something?? Maybe the BKE’s are the “Generic” version of the same shoe??

I must confess, I was a teenager of the eighties. This will explain two important things about my shoe fashion sense (or lack thereof), first – my adoration of low heel pumps and second, my undying love for ankle boots. Well, it’s true, ankle boots rule!
For those who can remember the eighties shoe fashions, you’ll recall it was Princess Di who brought low heel pumps into vogue, and Madonna who made the ankle boot a fashion MUST.
I was pleasantly surprised last fall to see the ankle boot back in it’s rightful place, but had to cringe every time I saw a photo of Paris & other celeb tartini’s wearing them with MINI’s for Crimes-Sake!
Damn Ugly Stuff! Enough to make me swear outloud or PUKE, depending on when I last ate. How can Paris Hilton think that is HOT?? I think it is sufficient proof that Paris is the DEVIL incarnate!
Who else but a she-devil would team ankle boots with bare legs and a dress that showed her knickers at the same time? Who else I ask, besides Britney or some vagina-named character in an Austin Powers movie?? This kind of indecent display prompted my renaming ankle boots – Bootie Boots!
Now, with that Paris-Hilton-is-a-She-Devil Rant out of my system, I’m happy to proclaim ankle boots back again! But, thank goodness – sensible is also in fashion this year. This fall, pair ankle boots with straight legged skinny jeans (try the Orion Boyfriend at HabitatShoes) & tunic, or longer skirts/dresses (mid thigh or lower please) ONLY! If you must wear a knicker baring mini with ankle boots…… (then you are completely mad and of questionable taste)….. but if you can’t stop the madness – please throw on a pair of matching opaque tights! No bare legs with the mini’s and ankle boots you heathens! E’Nuff said.
